WASTEWATER RECLAMATION SYSTEMS

Allied Engineers, Inc. specializes in the design and construction of wastewater reclamation systems for communities and commercial developments. Over the past 25 years, Allied personnel have provided engineering services for wastewater treatment and reclamation systems in over sixty communities in the United States and internationally. Our wastewater reclamation systems have made possible the construction of over 10,000 homes with a value exceeding $2 billion.

AEI’s systems are specifically designed to address the following concerns:

  • meeting State effluent reuse standards
  • minimal operator attention
  • redundant units for functional reliability
  • treating wastewater effectively at both low and high flows
  • aesthetic issues associated with treatment plants

In addition to providing wastewater treatment, a reclamation facility supplies a reliable, high-quality effluent for irrigation of golf courses, parks, and other landscaped areas.

We have honed our treatment processes over the past 20 years by taking advantage of innovations in equipment technology, control systems, and new treatment concepts. This has lowered treatment plant costs while improving effluent quality.

From initiating each project through permitting, financing, construction and operation, the AEI team has experience putting together successful projects that meet client needs and serve a vital public interest.

Allied personnel have provided engineering services for wastewater treatment and reclamation systems in over sixty communities in the United States and internationally.

At Allied Engineers, we understand the importance of providing clients with superior service. We are responsible for permitting, staying within construction budget, technical performance, and regulatory compliance.

Allied Engineers, Inc. specializes in reclamation systems that provide a reliable irrigation water source in addition to treatment of wastewater. In many cases, housing projects have been completed that would not be possible without the additional water supply that reclamation affords. The reclaimed irrigation water is a highly reliable supply since it will be available even during drought conditions.

PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION ISSUES

Our design-build approach reduces costs and maximizes client benefits. The following are some of the benefits of the design-build process.

1. Single entity to deal with problems. Eliminates fingerpointing between engineer and contractor.

2. Reduces change orders since the contracting entity is responsible for design and construction.

3. Better control over equipment selection. Contracting entity will be directed to use selected equipment manufacturers rather than rely upon contractor’s low bid supplier.

4. Overall costs are lower because detailed equipment specifications are not required, design time is less, and there is no construction bid process.

5. Performance specification is a better guarantee of a successful outcome than an engineering company’s design.

6. Reduces the chance of the designer going overboard with unnecessary items that the client pays for.

7. Reduces delays due to change orders and conflicts between designer and builder.

8. Increases flexibility to respond to owner’s request for changes without the need to go through a redesign.

9. The schedule is shortened since a complete, detailed design is not necessary to begin work.

10. Performance spec incorporates constructability into the design process.
